(Associated Press/journalstar.com) -- The AP reports that Gov. Dave Heineman "has signed a bill meant to help limit the number of well permits issued in Nebraska's lower Platte River basin." LB483 passed on a 45-0 vote and "Heineman signed it Monday. It goes into effect immediately." Members of local NRDs "have expressed support for the law."
