'BILL WOULD REWRITE NEBRASKA LIVESTOCK-CRUELTY RULES'
(AP/JournalStar.com) -- The AP reports that "Sen. Deb Fischer of Valentine introduced a bill (LB865) Monday to create a new section of state law dealing with livestock welfare," but the "bill doesn't add new rules or change the penalties for cruelty to livestock." Instead, the bill is "is designed to reduce confusion in the law" since the state's current livestock-cruelty laws appear in the same section covering cruelty to pets. "Fischer's bill would move all the livestock rules to a separate area of the law."
